Specially ordered Dragon Footballs and Volleyballs made for the Dragon Christmas Charity Sale by Alive & Kicking — a UK-registered charity that makes balls from strong African leather. They're properly stitched and finished, so they're hard to puncture and easy to repair. This provides work and income for African people in the Alive & Kicking workshops; it provides a market for African leather; and it makes children happy, by giving them something to play with. But that's not all. Helping them stay alive is even better. Each ball made for the children the charity supports carries a message about HIV/AIDS and malaria, these are two major killers that African children are at risk from. Alive and kicking has distributed 220,000 balls, created 150 jobs and reached 40,000 children through their HIV/AIDS campaign.

this year we would love
any Dragon (current, past, teacher or parent) to design a Christmas card to
be sold on behalf of the Sale. Entries should feature a Dragon somewhere in
your creation, and the closing date for entries will be Friday 24th
September. Entries can be left in the Dragon Sale postbox at the Lodge

address or phone number too.
