Each year the volunteers and supporters of the Dragon Sale raise a substantial amount of money which is used to benefit children and families in a number of different ways:
We invite charities to apply directly to us for funding of specific projects that support children and families locally, nationally and internationally. Please read our guidelines for applicants. The deadline has now passed for applications for funding from the 2012 Sale. Please check this web page again in the autumn for details of how to apply for funding from the 2013 Sale.
We also invite pupils at the school to apply to us for funds on behalf of their nominated charity. We encourage the pupils to research the charities and find out how the money we donate will benefit other children and families. If you are a current Dragon or Lynams pupil and would like to apply on behalf of your chosen charity, download and complete the simple application form now and return it to Mr Gill.
In recent years we have also partnered with the Big Give as part of their "Philanthropy in Schools" programme. Groups of pupils research and nominate charities for funding through the Big Give website, and give presentations to the Sale committee and a representative from the Big Give. The three best presentations are rewarded with additional funding for their nominated charities.
In 2010 the Dragon Sale established a bursary fund, with the aim of fully funding a place at the Dragon School for a child who would otherwise be unable to attend. This bursary was established in recognition of the huge amount of support that the staff and pupils of the Dragon School give to the Sale each year, and is administered by the Dragon School Trust.
